Brent Gala Papers
January 22nd, 2008Sean has sent out the forms for the Brent Gala in a *docx Office 2007 format. My mac has opened these and I have saved them as *.pdfs for those of you having difficulty. and they can be downloaded here.
To open Microsoft Office Word 2007 .docx or .docm files with Microsoft Office Word 2003, Word 2002, or Word 2000, you need to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for 2007 Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint File Formats and any necessary Office updates. By using the Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system, you can open, edit some items, and save Office Word 2007 documents in previous versions of Word.

January 16th, 2008Zofia is NOT head coach, she is ‘merely’ coordinating areas of activity for Acton at the moment.
changes at Acton SC
January 16th, 2008There have been changes at Acton swimming club with head coach Danielle Long moving club. New contact details are on the website and I am sure we all wish Zofie Koizen a warm welcome to the league as she picks up the reins as head coach for the time being.
Jenny at Clissold is still requesting if anyone can manage a gala swap but has sorted one of the fixture conflicts Clissold was facing.
Just to let you know that we have now swapped the other gala we were scheduled to do on 2nd Feb which clashed with Brent’s gala. So we are definitely committed to swimming in Brent’s gala on 2nd Feb and looking forward to getting our gala season started. So please ignore the request below to swap out of this one.
However we still have a fixture clash on 27 Sep.
Esther (Waltham Forest) - is there any possibility you could do the gala on 27 Sep instead of the one on 10 May, and we could do 10 May?
If this is not possible, we will do our best to get a team to Acton’s gala and to our other fixture on 27 sep. This is still a long way away.
new postings to site
January 12th, 2008The contact list, revised competition rules and the competition calendar as collated by Paul at Leyton in consultation with others has been updated and posted to the website. If any of you have forgotten your password merely go to the signup page and put in your email address, leaving the password field blank, and the password will be emailed to you. Remember that that has to be the email address you gave when you registered, but if you have changed it you won’t be reading this anyway!
So another year ahead of us the first gala is Anaconda hosted at Park Road. Ray says that he is getting the paperwork out this week.
London Graded League results 2007
November 13th, 2007Attached are the final league results for 2007. Thanks to Paul Norris from Leyton for tabulating the scores.
Leyton won the League with 33 points, Northholt Phoenix (last year’s winner) came second and Clissold came third and also won the Points cup with 139 points.
It has been another great year and it must surely be one of the happiest and most fun little leagues around. A big thanks to the dozens of people, officials, parents, coaches, volunteers and press-ganged members of the public who have helped to make each event so great must somehow permeate the sport.
Does anyone have their dates for next year confirmed yet - shall we start preparing to post next year’s calendar?
updated results 14 October 2007
October 14th, 2007The results of Clissold’s LGL gala yesterday are as follows:
- 1st place: Leyton 122 points
- 2nd place: Clissold 145 points
- 3rd place Acton 153 points
- 4th place: Haringey 171 points
- 5th place: Broomfield Park 178 points
I have updated the league table which is attached and shows points to date. It would be helpful if everyone could check that I have entered the results for their own gala correctly and let me know if there are any errors, so that we can have an accurate table before going in to the last gala of the season.
Could someone who has a copy of the rules please confirm that I am right that if a club does not attend, then they get double the points of the lowest competing club in that gala?
Thank you very much to Allan Lingley, the referee yesterday and to all the officials, judges and timekeepers from all the clubs who competed last night. Thank you to Alan Hawkins for the loan of the start gun. Once we had got over the initial hitch with not having a starter (thank you, Andy, for stepping in), everything went very smoothly, and that is due to Allan and all of you, so thank you very much. Please pass on my thanks to the officials, judges and timekeepers from your clubs who are not on this circulation list.
